Key Responsibilities
* Blueprint Mastery: Interpret and utilize blueprints, isometric drawings, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and schematics for pipe and fabrication.
* Hands-On Fitting: Execute layout and fitting of materials using industrial hand tools.
* Welding Expertise: Perform welding and tack welding tasks with precision.
* Quality Assurance: Conduct fit-up inspections with minimal supervision.
* Shell Work: Burn shells and fit nozzles and internals accurately.
* Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members to ensure the accuracy and quality of fabricated parts.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
* Experience: Minimum of 5 years in fabrication and at least 3 years in vessel fitting.
* Blueprint Proficiency: Strong ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
* Tool Expertise: Skilled in using industrial hand tools for layout and fit-up.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Experience in pipe fitting and tack or welding.
* Proficiency in flux core welding, saddle fits, and miter bends.
* Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
* Experience with Brask or Southern Heat Exchanger is preferred.

Work Environment
Work in a medium-sized vessel shop with an open-air environment, focusing on safety, honesty, and integrity. You’ll be part of a dedicated team of approximately 20 employees on the day shift and 8 on the night shift. Our dress code includes steel toes, jeans, work shirts, safety glasses, and hard hats.
Day Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with potential Saturday hours from 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Expect to work 49 hours per week, increasing to 58 hours when Saturdays are included.

This is a Contract to Hire position based in Houston, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
