Senior or Principal Transport Planner – Woking (Surrey) or London
Mayer Brown is seeking a talented and motivated Senior or Principal Transport Planner to join our expanding Transport Planning team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to take a leading role in delivering development-led projects and contributing to the continued growth of the business.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing and delivering a wide range of transport planning projects, including Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and feasibility studies. The role involves working closely with clients, stakeholders and internal teams to provide high-quality, commercially aware advice.
You will also contribute to business development, support junior staff and play a key role in maintaining and enhancing client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage transport planning projects from inception through to completion
* Prepare and review Transport Assessments, Statements and supporting technical documents
* Undertake and interpret transport modelling and analysis (including TRICS, TEMPro, junction modelling)
* Liaise with clients, local authorities and other stakeholders
* Support and mentor junior team members
* Contribute to project financial management and fee proposals
* Support business development and client account growth
About You
* Experience in development-led transport planning
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively
* Experience or understanding of the retail sector would be highly beneficial
* Excellent report writing and communication skills
* Proficiency in relevant industry tools
* Commercial awareness and experience in client-facing roles
* Membership of a relevant professional body (or working towards)
Location
The role is ideally based in our Woking office, although we will consider candidates based in London or other locations depending on experience.
