Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate and experienced Chef for a new new Surf & Turf restaurant opening soon in Hasting Old Town. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of food quality and safety while ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen. This could be an opportunity for an experienced Sous Chef to move up the ladder. Previous experience of working with steak and fish would be an advantage.
Duties
* Overseeing daily kitchen operations.
* Supervise food preparation and cooking processes to ensure quality and consistency.
* Train and mentor new kitchen staff in culinary techniques, food safety, and hygiene practices.
* Maintain inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of food items.
* Enforce health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.
* Monitor portion control and presentation standards for all dishes served.
* Assist in managing kitchen schedules to optimise productivity during service hours.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
* Strong culinary skills with a focus on food preparation and cooking techniques.
* In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
* Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams.
