Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist
Online applications are invited for a WTE Consultant Paediatric Endocrinologist at Southampton Children's Hospital. We are seeking a colleague who can add value to a supportive and dynamic team to further advance Southampton tertiary paediatric endocrine services.
About the service
The service provides comprehensive tertiary paediatric endocrine care for the local population of Southampton, the Wessex region and further afield, covering a population of around 4 million. All major tertiary paediatric specialities are co-located at Southampton Children's Hospital. The trust is a major teaching centre for the University of Southampton. There is a well-developed multi-disciplinary team. Specialty clinics are provided for DSD, genetics, young adult service, complex obesity and rare bone disorders. As part of our commitment to provide specialist support at a regional level, the roles of this post will include providing specialist endocrine care to support other consultants and healthcare professionals at hospital sites across the Wessex Paediatric Endocrine Network.

What youll do
1. undertake the full range of general and specialist duties as a tertiary consultant paediatric endocrinologist including outpatient clinics, participate in general and specialist MDTs, consultant of the week (including urgent patient management and network liaison) and outreach clinics
2. develop the Wessex Paediatric Endocrine Network across the South of England
3. address increasing demands for paediatric endocrine care and outreach activity

Person Specification
Qualifications and training
Essential
4. MBBS or equivalent
5. MRCPCH
6. GMC registration with a licence to practise
7. CCT (or within six months of CCT date) or equivalent for overseas service in Paediatrics
8. Paediatric endocrinology training
Desirable
9. Subspecialty interest in paediatric endocrinology
10. Completion or close to date for MD/PhD
11. Training in late effects of cancer treatment
12. Specialist register for paediatrics
Previous or relevant experience
