Overview
UIG Power Transmission & Distribution is seeking a Trainee Site Engineer to work within its Overhead Line and EHV Underground cables teams throughout Scotland. This role is predominantly site based across Scotland. You will need to be flexible in your work location as you may be away from home for periods, and you will be expected to work from home or your nearest Wood office to suit business needs.
The Role
Reporting to the OHL Construction Manager, you will learn all aspects of site engineering, oversee the site management team coordination of foremen, linesmen, and sub-contractors while liaising with clients and third parties, and manage the setting People to Work process, including onboarding and site inductions with our program to support a growing workload across overhead lines (OHL) & EHV UG Cabling. You will contribute to the increased network capacity required to deliver the UK government\'s pathway to 2030 and the transition to net zero.

Responsibilities for Internal Candidates

Qualifications
* GCSE/A Level/T Level in a practical subject along with functional Maths and English
* Demonstrated project delivery, with experience/ awareness in:
* Good communication skills
* Highly organised and takes initiative
