The post holder will support valuation staff in the preparation and maintenance of the Valuation Roll and Council Tax Valuation List. The role is based at Fife House, North Street, Glenrothes, but will work across Fife.
Working Arrangements
We offer a blended working arrangement with opportunities for home-working and occasional office presence. Candidates should be able to travel to and attend office locations in Fife as required.
Key Tasks
1. Survey, measurement, and inspection of domestic and non-domestic properties.
2. Create and maintain property files.
3. Operate in-house computer systems and databases.
4. Organise workload to meet deadlines efficiently.
5. Assist in preparing appeal cases for the Local Taxation Chamber.
6. Prepare survey reports.
7. Research and collate information for appeals, proposals, and valuations.
8. Download plans from the e-planning website and research property information.
9. Handle general property enquiries received by the Service.
10. Work effectively as part of a team.
The Person
Applicants should have:
* Highers, SCQF level 6, SVQ level 3, or equivalent qualifications.
* Numeracy, accuracy, and literacy skills.
* Experience working in a busy office environment or as part of a team.
* The ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Strong organisational and prioritisation skills to meet deadlines.
* The ability to travel throughout Fife.
* Willingness to learn rating and council tax legislation and case law.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Note: Before appointment, you will need to obtain PVG scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and join the relevant PVG scheme.
