We are looking for compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join our friendly and inclusive team and support children with complex SEND needs within our Early Years and Key Stage 1 settings.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEN to help them access and enjoy all areas of the curriculum under the direction of the teacher and SENDco.
* Assist teachers in planning and delivering tailored learning activities.
* Implement planned learning activities, adapting them as needed to suit pupil responses.
* Promote inclusion within the classroom and beyond, ensuring all children can access learning.
* Record observations and progress to help inform planning.
* Provide support with children's social, emotional, and welfare needs (including minor first aid and intimate care).
* Adapt approaches to meet individual needs.
* Observe, monitor, and record progress, feeding back to class teachers and the SENCo.
* Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all children feel safe and valued.
* Work closely with parents, teachers, and external professionals to support children's development.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience working with young children, particularly those with additional needs and children with ASD.
* Be confident working 1:1 and using their initiative to adapt support to the child's needs.
* Build strong partnerships with colleagues and families to ensure consistent support.
* Have a positive attitude, good sense of humour, and a creative approach to learning.
* Be enthusiastic, patient, and able to make learning fun and engaging.
* A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or special needs support is desirable.
* Good literacy, numeracy, and communication skills. GCSE Grades A-C in Maths and English.
* Patience, empathy, and a commitment to helping every child thrive.
