Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team in providing exceptional care within our assisted living facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in care, including experience in care homes and dementia care. This role requires a compassionate leader who can effectively manage staff, oversee care plans, and ensure the highest standards of care for our residents. As our Deputy Manager, you will assist in managing operations within the home to achieve goals while ensuring the highest standards of care. You will oversee staff and assume full management responsibilities in the absence of the Home Manager.
Duties
* Assist the Manager in overseeing daily operations of the care home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
* Supervise, develop and support staff members, fostering a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional development.
* Develop and implement individualised care plans for residents, ensuring their needs are met with dignity and respect.
* Monitor medication administration and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
* Provide leadership in the delivery of high-quality care, including Alzheimer's and dementia support.
* Conduct regular assessments of resident health and well-being, adjusting care plans as necessary.
* Engage with families to provide updates on resident progress and address any concerns or questions.
* Participate in staff training sessions to enhance skills related to senior care management.
* 40 hours per week, including alternate weekends, and on-call support
Experience
* Proven experience in assisted living or nursing home settings is essential.
* Background in nursing or related healthcare fields is highly desirable.
* Previous management experience within a care environment is required.
* Strong skills with dementia care practices and medication administration protocols.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with residents, families, and staff members.
