Job Description
AECOM is seeking an experienced Energy and Carbon Coordinator to join our Sustainability and Decarbonisation Advisory (SDA) team based in Basingstoke, with opportunities to influence industry standards and regulations.
The successful candidate will deliver and coordinate energy, carbon, and climate mitigation services for major clients across sectors such as residential, public, office, industrial, retail, and education, helping them meet Net Zero targets and align with the UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard (NZCBS).
Key responsibilities include:
1. Delivering net zero carbon strategies for clients.
2. Collaborating with architects and engineers to develop energy and overheating strategies for planning submissions.
3. Conducting passive design analysis and low & zero carbon studies, applying Passivhaus principles.
4. Supporting responses to the Building Safety Regulator for Part L and O submissions.
5. Performing energy and overheating modelling using tools like SAP, HEM, IES, TM54, and bespoke systems.
6. Producing industry guidance and reviewing planning submissions for local authorities.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in energy, architecture, engineering, or related fields, with experience in sustainability or energy consulting, and knowledge of the UK planning system. Strong report-writing skills and building performance analysis experience are essential.
