Primary Freight Planning Assistant
We're looking for a Primary Freight Planning Assistant to join our Primary Logistics team, supporting the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods from brewery to destination. This role sits at the operational heart of our international logistics function, helping deliver On Time In Full service while ensuring accurate cost control and financial accountability.
What You'll Do
Freight & Invoice Management:
* Validate carrier invoices, additional charges, customs costs, and warehouse fees.
* Raise service POs, track exceptional items, and support Finance during month-end to prevent errors or double counts.
* Work with Logistics, Accounts Payable, and hauliers to improve invoice "first-time match" rates.
Direct Delivery Planning
* Maintain and update delivery trackers daily, providing accurate, timely information.
* Liaise with carriers, customers, and warehouses to resolve queries and confirm delivery status.
* Monitor quay rent risks, chase early slot requests, and avoid unnecessary storage costs.
* Analyse delivery performance trends and prepare reports for stakeholders.
Data Accuracy & Reporting
* Maintain PO and ETA data in ERP systems (SAP/Transwide).
* Chase carriers for missing container, ETA, or delivery information.
* Produce daily, weekly, and monthly reports on freight costs and delivery performance.
* Log and report carrier delays and incidents.
Collaboration & Support
* Work closely with Customer Collaboration, Supply Planning, Finance, carriers, and customers.
* Attend performance review meetings with carriers and 3PLs.
* Provide cover for the wider Logistics team and support strategic improvement projects.
What You'll Bring
* Experience in supply chain/logistics, ideally in a fast-paced, high-volume, process-driven environment.
* ERP experience (SAP desirable) and strong Excel skills.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and attention to detail.
* Relationship management with customers or suppliers.
