About Biffa Polymers
We're proud to be part of the UK’s circular economy at Biffa Polymers.
By recycling milk bottles collected from kerbsides, we turn used plastic into something new. We work with industry partners to find practical, sustainable solutions that keep materials in use and out of landfill. Our site in the North East of England supplies recycled plastic to customers across the UK and Europe.
In this role you will be an effective member of the financial and divisional leadership teams working in partnership with the Polymers Managing Director, R&E Finance Director and Group finance teams to ensure;
1. The Division is well controlled financially, has the right financial information and KPI’s to inform decision making, and develops clear and robust financial plans to achieve profit, return on capital and cash flow objectives.
2. Profit and performance improvement opportunities are identified, appraised and implemented.
3. Business strategy and proposed investments are financially appraised and accurately reflected in plans and forecasts.
Key responsibilities:
4. Overseeing the financial management Biffa Polymers, ensuring accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
5. Managing financial compliance and contract obligations, identifying and mitigating risks, and leading the finance team.
6. Engage with key stakeholders, including public authorities and financial institutions, to ensure effective contract management.
7. Support audits, ensuring regulatory compliance.
8. Contribute to the strategic direction of the business by aligning financial objectives with organisational goals.
9. Develop budgets and strategic forecasts in line with a 5-year planning process.
10. Annual budget responsibility.
Essential criteria:
11. Strong experience in financial management, and leading finance teams.
12. Commercial acumen, with the ability to robustly challenge financial models and drive profitability.
13. Experience in contract management, including risk management, compliance, and audit.
