About the role
We are looking for an experienced
IT Manager
to join our team at NP Aerospace in Coventry. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on leader to oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of all IT systems and infrastructure, ensuring the secure and efficient delivery of technology services across the business.
You will manage and coach a team of IT professionals, lead infrastructure projects, and work closely with the Senior IT Manager to align technology strategy with organisational goals. What you'll be doing
* Overseeing the day-to-day running of IT systems and managing the IT team
* Supporting desktops, laptops, printers, servers (virtual and physical), networking, and storage
* Managing procurement of IT hardware, software, and vendor relationships
* Leading server and client infrastructure upgrades
* Administering and maintaining ERP (QAD) systems
* Managing Teams telephony and Office 365 (Exchange Online)
* Overseeing patch management, backups, and licensing compliance
* Assisting with cyber security accreditations (CE+, CMMC, Secure by Design)
* Ensuring IT systems comply with GDPR and regulatory requirements
* Monitoring KPIs to assess IT performance and support continuous improvement
* Promoting environmentally responsible IT practices
* Identifying and mitigating operational risks to ensure business continuity
* Managing IT security investigations and incident reporting in conjunction with the Senior IT Manager and Security Controller
* Maintaining and updating IT policies and procedures
What we're looking for
Essential:
* Proven experience in a similar IT Manager/Team Lead role
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP
* Hands-on experience with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and VMware
* Experience with SANs (Storage Area Networks) and backup systems
* Strong networking knowledge (switching, routing, VLANs, cabling)
* Experience managing IT functions and staff
* Office 365 administration and PowerShell scripting
* Cyber security background with experience in audits and compliance
* UK Government SC Clearance (or ability to obtain)
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills
Desirable:
* ERP experience (ideally QAD)
* Veeam Backup & Replication
* VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter
* HP Aruba switches and APs (CLI configuration)
* SQL experience
