Financial Accountant Plymouth, Devon Competitive Salary Onsite Our client, due to their ongoing growth and ambitious expansion plans, is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. As the Financial Accountant, you'll work closely alongside the senior management, playing a crucial role in optimising and driving the quality of the organisations financial reporting, compliance, and strategic insights. This is a high-impact, technically demanding position, perfect for someone with a sharp eye for detail, strong financial acumen, and a desire to influence the broader direction of finance operations. The responsibilities: Prepare company accounts in line with IFRS and FRS. Oversee audits and tax filings, ensuring accuracy and deadlines are met. Handle statutory duties including Corporation Tax, VAT, import duties, Transfer Pricing, and Intrastat. Monitor changes in tax and regulation, advising leadership on business impact. Contribute to monthly management accounts through preparation and review. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling for group and project needs. Provide analysis to inform and support strategic decisions. Work with the Finance Team to improve and simplify processes. Act as a trusted finance partner to other teams, promoting financial awareness. Manage lease accounting systems and liaise with property teams to maintain compliance and accuracy. The candidate: Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) - ideally 1 - 2 years PQE. Proven experience in financial statement preparation, consolidations, and process improvements. Strong grasp of financial systems, with exposure to lease accounting, property finance, or automation tools an advantage. Excellent communicator, confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels. Highly organised, proficient in MS Office (especially Excel), and accurate under pressure.
