Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available The role An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Cost Analyst to join our Procurement and Commercial team to support our SSEN Transmission business. SSEN Transmission is at the heart of the just transition to net zero in the UK. In the coming years, our network will be pivotal in connecting and transporting the power needed to decarbonise the UK's electricity network and in doing so power the UK's net-zero and energy security ambitions. Our business is rapidly growing, to deliver the largest investment package that Scotland's electricity system has ever seen, with a projected investment programme of over £20bn in the next 10 years. This role will support the delivery of this ambitious investment programme. You will Be responsible for Portfolio Reporting of Commercial Performance Activities and Cost Analysis activities within our Networks Transmission business. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with advanced analytical skills and an understanding of cost management/commercial/contractual processes. To successfully operate within a regulated business environment, we are required to monitor, control, analyse and report on all commercial performance activities across the portfolio – key responsibilities include: - Champion advanced data analytics and reporting across the commercial performance portfolio – this includes areas such as Commercial Performance Portfolio Cost Reporting and Phasing, linkage of Cost Data, Market Indices, Trend Analysis, Commercial Exposure, Risk, etc. - Lead on Commercial Performance Portfolio Reporting and Cost Analysis activities – this includes reporting and analytics. Leveraging data and industry trends/benchmarks to validate data and improve accuracy. - Provide leadership and direction for Commercial Performance Portfolio Reporting and Cost Analysis activities along with maintaining and advancing relationships with key internal stakeholders – ensuring alignment with P&C Cost & estimating, Finance, Delivery, Project Services, etc. - Advance and refine strategic objectives and Key Performance Indicators within the Commercial Performance Portfolio Reporting and Cost Analysis area – including Consolidate portfolio / framework level actions plans and ensure continual monitoring / closing of actions to bring relationships in line with expectations for key delivery partners. - Develop and enhance current systems and processes to ensure efficiency and consistency. Along with leading continuous improvement activities within the business - identifying and developing innovative methods for improving processes and techniques. You will have - Demonstratable experience and advanced competency in cost control, data analytics and reporting. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong attention to detail. - Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with an ability to liaise with all levels of the business. - Demonstratable experience and advanced competency in digital tools such as Power BI, Excel, PowerApps and Analytics Software. - Proficiency in interpreting datasets and deriving actionable insights. - Knowledge and experience in contract/commercial management and its influence on project costs.
