Behaviour Support Assistant – SEN School, Gateshead (Full-Time)
Protocol Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Gateshead, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and communication difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities
* Support pupils who may display behaviours that challenge
* Assist with the implementation of individual behaviour support strategies
* Promote emotional regulation and positive coping techniques
* Support learning and engagement both in and out of the classroom
* Encourage independence, confidence and social development
* Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
* Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, support staff and families to meet individual needs
Working Hours
Monday: 8:30am – 4:00pm
Tuesday: 8:30am – 4:00pm
Wednesday: 8:30am – 3:45pm
Thursday: 8:30am – 4:15pm
Friday: 8:30am – 3:15pm
Requirements
* Previous SEND experience is desirable but not essential
* A patient, caring and empathetic approach
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
* Full-time availability

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
