Lead Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Basingstoke – 5 days onsite
Salary: £58K - £63K + 10% Bonus + DV bonus

Recruiting for a a Lead Infrastructure Engineer. This is a hands-on technical role that requires deep infrastructure expertise, end-to-end ownership of solutions, and the ability to work in a collaborative, delivery-focused environment.
Responsibilities include:
* Own the full lifecycle of infrastructure work packages — from initial design through to prototyping, deployment, and early life support.
* Work collaboratively within a cross-functional agile team, including security, service, and management functions.
* Troubleshoot and problem-solve complex technical issues across multiple systems and platforms.
* Script and automate repeatable unit tests to ensure functionality meets all requirements.
* Develop and maintain design and support documentation.
* Drive continuous improvement by supporting change requests and enhancements based on evolving user and business needs.
Skills and Experience include:
You are likely to have strong, hands-on experience within the following areas:
* Email & Directory Services: Exchange, Mail, MTA, SMTP, Border Sync, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS
* Web & Server Infrastructure: IIS / Apache, Server Build & Configuration, PKI (TLS, Certificates), VMWare
* Automation & Scripting: PowerShell, DevOps tooling (Ansible, GIT, YAML)
* Experience with scripting repeatable infrastructure configurations and deploying securely within enterprise environments.
* Strong documentation and communication skills to support design governance and operational transition.
