Commercial Manager / Buyer

* Salary: £40,000 – £43,000 per annum

The Opportunity
We’re looking for a commercially minded and proactive Commercial Manager / Buyer to join a well-established and growing organisation within the foodservice sector.
This is a varied and fast-paced role where you’ll take ownership of supplier relationships, product sourcing, commercial performance, and promotional activity—playing a key part in driving business growth and enhancing product offerings.

What You’ll Be Doing
* Building and managing strong relationships with suppliers, including negotiating competitive terms
* Sourcing new and innovative products aligned with market trends and customer needs
* Leading the development of own‑label product ranges
* Analysing sales performance to identify opportunities for growth and margin improvement
* Managing and executing promotional activity to drive sales
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date pricing
* Coordinating marketing activity and producing regular communications
* Attending buying meetings and contributing to commercial strategy
* Visiting suppliers and customers to strengthen partnerships (approx. 25% travel)
* Ensuring product quality through sampling and supplier collaboration
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience in a Buyer or Commercial role, ideally within foodservice
* Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
* Commercially aware, with the ability to interpret and act on sales data
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail
* Confident using Excel and Microsoft Office
Desirable
* Experience within the foodservice sector (3+ years preferred)
* Experience managing own-label or private label products
