At Kent Adult Education, our learning centres are vibrant, welcoming spaces where adults come to build skills, confidence, and new opportunities. Supporting learners across West Kent, we deliver courses that make a real difference to peoples lives.
Were now looking for a motivated and proactive Exams and Learner Services Officer to join our friendly West Kent team.
Covering Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, and Maidstone (Oakwood House), this role offers variety and the chance to make a genuine impact. While you will work across the district, youll likely spend much of your time in either Maidstone or Tonbridge.
As a key front-facing member of the team, youll be the first point of contact for our learnersplaying a vital role in shaping their experience from enquiry through to achievement. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
1. Welcoming and supporting learners in person, by phone, and via email
2. Providing clear information and guidance on courses and services
3. Enrolling learners and managing student data accurately
4. Supporting exam processes, including entries, and organising / running local examinations
5. Helping to create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. It can be busy and requires strong attention to detail, but it also offers the opportunity to work independently and make a real difference.
Working Pattern
We understand the importance of balance and aim to offer flexibility wherever possible.
6. 37 hours per week
7. A flexible working pattern, including some variable hours
8. There may be one evening per week (until 9.30pm) during term time to support evening classes
9. There may be a need for an occasional Saturday attendance
10. Rotas are planned in advance to help you organise your time
About You
Were looking for someone who is approachable, organised, and committed to excellent service. Youll need:
11. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
12. The ability to manage and process information accurately
13. Confidence using Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new systems
14. A proactive approach and ability to work on your own initiative
15. GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English (Level 2)
