Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Fire & Security Systems Installation Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for installing and commissioning a wide range of fire detection and security systems to the highest industry standards across commercial and public sector sites.
About the Role
In this hands-on role, you will install, commission, and maintain fire and security systems, including fire alarms, intruder alarms, access control, CCTV, and public address systems. Working independently or as part of a small team, you will ensure projects are delivered on time, meet relevant British and European standards, and comply with BAFE and NSI codes of practice. As a key client-facing professional, your ability to communicate effectively and deliver quality results is essential.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Install and commission fire and security systems to industry and regulatory standards.
* Diagnose and resolve system faults; provide technical maintenance support.
* Deliver professional customer service and technical guidance on system options and upgrades.
* Ensure timely completion of projects with accurate documentation (e.g. reports, handovers, compliance checklists).
* Maintain strong working relationships with clients through effective communication and reliable service delivery.
Skills & Experience
* Experience installing and servicing fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control systems.
* Knowledge of relevant standards, including:
NSI PD6662 (Intruder Alarms)
NCP 104 & BS EN 62676 (CCTV)
NCP 109 (Access Control)
* Understanding of LAN/WAN networking and Power over Ethernet (PoE).
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
* Proficient in using PC-based software for system configuration and diagnostics.
* Full UK driving licence (company van provided).
* Good physical fitness (able to safely handle equipment and work at height).
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Well-organised, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
