Specialist Tutor - Autism Support

The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.

Location: Shirley, B90
Day Rate: From £90 per day (PAYE - no umbrella deductions)
Contract: Full-time, long-term
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:00 or 08:30 - 16:30
Start Date: September 2025

About the Role

As a Specialist Tutor, you'll provide individualised support to pupils using practical, interest-based learning approaches that go beyond traditional classroom methods. This includes:

Supporting students 1:1 or 2:1 with personalised learning plans
Delivering creative lessons linked to student interests - e.g. Maths through games, Geography in the community
Assisting with personal care where required (full training provided)
Using evidence-based methods such as ABA and PECS
Helping pupils develop communication, life skills, and independence
Maintaining a safe, engaging, and positive learning environmentWhat We're Looking For

A genuine passion for supporting young people with autism
Calm, adaptable, and creative problem solver
Strong communication skills and a team-focused mindset
Experience in SEN, care, psychology, youth work, or transferable skills (desirable but not essential)
Willingness to complete safeguarding and induction training before starting
Physical readiness for an active, engaging role
