RPS is seeking an experienced Arboriculturist to join our Landscape Business Unit, which includes Arboriculturists and Landscape Architects. You will support project delivery across various sectors throughout the UK, working independently and as part of a team.
What you’ll be doing
Your work will involve a mix of desk-based tasks and site visits. Typical responsibilities include:
1. Attending sites and conducting tree surveys in accordance with BS5837 and using tablet-based data capture software.
2. Writing reports, schedules, and plans related to trees, including Tree Surveys, Impact Assessments (AIA), and Method Statements (AMS).
3. Preparing tree health and condition reports and providing expert advice.
4. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and clients on tree-related matters to ensure successful project outcomes.
Who we’re looking for
You should be a qualified member of The Arboricultural Association and/or The Institute of Chartered Foresters, with preferred qualifications and skills including:
* A Level 4 Arboricultural qualification or equivalent.
* Understanding of BS5837:2012 standards.
* Strong tree identification skills and knowledge of tree morphology and management.
* Experience in conducting tree surveys and preparing related reports.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD, GIS, or similar software is advantageous.
* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines, as well as collaboratively within a team.
* Excellent interpersonal skills for working with colleagues and clients.
* Experience giving evidence at Public Inquiries or Hearings is a plus but not essential.
* Willingness to travel nationally for work.
