We are growing our elevator (home lift) team to support new products coming to the European market, and are looking for a technical support specialist for our developing home elevator product range.
Working closely with other teams, the Technical Lead is responsible for ensuring that our colleagues and partners are well supported to avoid or resolve technical issues with Savaria group products and services. Support is predominantly for our dealer network, but also to relevant stakeholders inside our business, including Commercial, Installation and Customer Service teams.
Partnering with the European Head of Technical Support, the Technical Lead will deliver local delivery plans, supporting partners and colleagues to be well educated in products and services and confident in providing installation, maintenance and breakdown services to our customers.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Developing strong technical knowledge of Savaria Elevator products in order to be able to train others, support complex installations and troubleshoot technical issues
* Ensuring stakeholders are competent to deliver training on our products (install, service, repair)
* Providing high quality training to ensure an excellent experience for customers and end users at every stage of their journey with Savaria
* Developing and maintaining high standard of training tools and materials
* Maintaining up to date knowledge and practical understanding of Savaria Group products through regular hands-on activity (installation, maintenance etc.) and regular time spent at Group manufacturing and assembly sites across Europe
* Ensuring market leading standards of service with issues fixed at the root cause
* Supporting effective KPI reporting for high performance and continuous improvement
* Managing effective relationships with stakeholders to ensure feedback from partners is effectively used to drive reliability improvements
* Developing Technical Support service revenue stream
For success in this role, the following will be helpful:
* Great interpersonal style, with the confidence and ability to deliver demonstrations
* Good technical analytic skills
* Hands on experience with vertical home lifts (e.g. TFLs)
* Experience of platform and stair lifts would be an advantage
* Ability to communicate technical content in an easy-to-understand way
* Well-practiced knowledge transfer skills, to deliver engaging training to varied audiences
* Ability to quickly understand customer needs and offer an appropriate solution
* Confidence to use initiative to avoid & resolve issues, and identify improvement opportunities
* Ability to develop and maintain good relationships, building an effective industry network
* Good commercial awareness, with an eye on the impact of activity on Company performance
Regular business travel both within the UK and internationally (mainly Europe, with some North and Central America) is an essential function of this role
Fluency in a European language in addition to English would be an advantage
