Support Workers will provide support to customers to help them develop the life skills they require to meet their assessed needs. This may include physical, domestic, emotional, and social care. They will work to promote social inclusion and support independent living, encouraging customers to maximize their skills and choices. Support also involves developing a model of re-enablement towards self-advocacy, self-management, and empowerment, incorporating principles of recovery, co-production, and peer support.
The service :
Queens Road and Herons Court are am-pm mental health services supporting low to medium need customers.
This role requires a valid Right to Work for the UK, as Look Ahead is not a sponsoring organization.
What you’ll do :
* Deliver all aspects of support to enable customers to develop independent living skills, including personal and physical care where appropriate.
* Support customers with domestic tasks to ensure they enjoy a high quality of accommodation.
* Participate in support planning and risk management, as facilitated by the lead Support Worker.
* Carry out security duties to ensure safety of customers and premises.
* Monitor CCTV during the shift.
* Support customers to access community facilities, including accompanying them to appointments, shopping, college visits, and public amenities.
* Report observations related to customer welfare.
* Adhere to all policies and procedures of Look Ahead Care & Support, including statutory requirements.
* Ensure health and safety policies and protocols are followed.
* Maintain records as required, under the guidance of support workers and management.
* Participate in team meetings and service development.
* Undertake other duties as reasonably assigned.

What you’ll bring : Essential :
* Good IT and writing skills.
* NVQ Level minimum or equivalent.
* Experience in social care, mental health, or public health.
