Overview
Speech and language Therapist (Band 6) 0.6 WTE – 21.6 hours per week. Fixed term for 1 year. Within the Adult Community and Rehabilitation Speech and Language Therapy Service including sessions within Home First team dedicated to providing acute SLT care at home.
Responsibilities
* Provide a comprehensive service including assessment, diagnosis and appropriate management to adults with acquired communication and swallowing difficulties referred to the East and Midlothian community team and for urgent SLT care at home.
* Consolidate and develop skills in the field of adult acquired disorders.
Qualifications and Requirements
* A SLT degree qualification or equivalent and HCPC registration is essential for this post.
* Evidence of significant post-registration professional practice experience to undertake and fulfill the key areas for this post.
* Car driver is essential.
* PVG Scheme membership/record is required for the post (child and/or adult as applicable); if not current, an application to Disclosure Scotland and clearance prior to starting may be required.
Additional Information
As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time weekly hours reduce from 37 to 36. Part-time hours are pro-rata. The salary will be pro-rata for part-time work.
