Highland One World is a small, dynamic charity based in Inverness, working with educators and young people to promote social justice and sustainability through Global Citizenship Education. Our work empowers young people to engage critically with global issues and to contribute to a fairer, more sustainable world. This part-time role is ideal for someone with strong administrative and financial skills who enjoys working independently and as part of a values-driven team. Purpose of the role To support the smooth day-to-day running of HOW through effective administration and financial management. Approximate time split: 75% administration, 25% finance. Key responsibilities Administration Manage and securely store administrative documents in line with GDPR. Support daily operations: ordering, payments, coding/scanning invoices, responding to emails, updating documents, and minute-taking. Maintain and update the HOW and Signposts resource libraries, including loans database and occasional website edits. Keep project records and databases up to date and support reporting and evaluation requirements. Assist with logistics and administration for events and project activities. Finance Monthly Authorise and record all transactions via QuickBooks. Monitor expenditure (in particular for project budgets) and perform accurate and timely bank reconciliations. Manage monthly payroll in coordination with the outsourced payroll provider, process payments via BACS, and report to HMRC and pension provider in a timely manner. Quarterly Prepare accurate and timely financial reports and projections for the Treasurer and Board. Annually & Ad hoc Assist with year-end accounts and financial reporting to funders. Support budget development for funding applications. Respond to financial queries as needed. Team engagement Attend occasional team and Board meetings and join online sessions with finance/admin staff from other Development Education Centres in Scotland. Terms and Conditions Working pattern: This is a part-time role, equivalent to 1.5 days (10.5 hours) per week on average across the year. Our strong preference is for these hours to be annualised and worked during school term time—meaning you would work more than 1.5 days per week during term time and not work during school holidays. The exact working pattern can be agreed with the successful candidate. Wednesdays to be worked in the office in Inverness Royal Academy, other hours to be worked flexibly either in the office or at home by agreement. Contract: This is is a fixed contract for one year with the possibility of extension subject to funding. Salary: £26,000 - £31,000 pro rata based on experience
