Location: Hob Moor Oaks SEN Primary School, York
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm (term time only)
Breaks: 30-minute lunch
Start: ASAP – Immediate starts available!
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? Vision for Education are urgently recruiting dedicated trainee SEND Teaching Assistants to join the incredible team at Hob Moor Oaks SEN Primary School in York.
The Role:
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a range of complex needs including autism, learning difficulties, and physical disabilities. Full training will be provided with the opportunity to complete Level 2 Teaching Assistant training next summer. Your role will involve:
1. Providing one-to-one or small group support
2. Assisting pupils with communication and engagement
3. Supporting with mobility and physical needs
4. Delivering personal care in a respectful and dignified manner
5. Collaborating closely with teachers and therapists to create a nurturing learning environment
About You:
We’re looking for individuals who are:
6. Compassionate, resilient, and reliable
7. Willing to learn on the job
8. Comfortable with providing personal care and help with toileting as required
9. Able to commit to the full time, term time hours Mon–Fri, 8:30–4:00 (part time will be considered for the right candidates)
10. In possession of an enhanced DBS on the update service – or willing to apply for one
11. Able to provide references, proof of right to work and address
