Overview
Occupational Therapy Support Worker – Acute OT Team, Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary. Based mainly in the Stroke & Rehabilitation ward, including Frailty unit and Care of the Elderly ward. You will provide assistance to the Registered OT and may be allocated a patient caseload to implement and modify existing treatment plans within your scope of practice to achieve positive patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Registered Occupational Therapist and manage your own patient caseload as directed.
* Implement and modify existing treatment plans to support patient recovery and outcomes within your scope of practice.
* Liaise with patients, carers and external sources on a regular basis; demonstrate excellent communication and multitasking in a busy environment.
* Contribute to a supportive learning environment through supervision, training and appraisal processes.
* Flexibly work across different units and potentially over 7 days as required; this will be discussed at interview.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Excellent communication skills with patients, carers and external sources.
* Ability to multi-task, manage a caseload and perform non-clinical duties within the department.
* Demonstrated readiness to work in a busy hospital setting and adapt to changing healthcare demands.
Working Pattern
Due to the changing healthcare landscape, there may be a requirement to work flexibly across different units and over 7 days; details will be discussed at interview.
