Duty Manager – Plaza Community Cinema, Waterloo, Merseyside
Salary: £13 per hour rising to £13.50 after 6 months. The Plaza Community Cinema is seeking an enthusiastic person to join their friendly team of staff and volunteers to continue to supply an excellent service to the local community and the wider areas of Merseyside.
The successful candidate will ensure the cinema and all its activities are run efficiently and professionally, meet all safety and legal requirements, and adhere to all the cinema’s policies.

* Permanent
* Part-time, 20 hours per week
* Full training will be given
* Evening and weekend work will be necessary. Overtime may be required from time to time. Some flexibility in the working week may be required.

Role Responsibilities
* Human Resources: ensure all people carry out their work in line with their Job Descriptions or Work Plans; manage all staff on your shift; ensure adequate staffing levels; report absences to the volunteer coordinator; protect volunteer details in line with confidentiality guidelines.
* Operations: operate projectors and ensure films start on time; manage adverts and end credits; close down machines at night according to procedures.
* Finance and security: cash up daily takings; record takings for banking; secure cash in the safe; secure building at end of evening; set the alarm system; ensure toilets are checked and no patrons remain.
* Maintenance and repair: clean and brush screens; keep foyer and toilets clean; maintain accessibility and report repairs; manage kiosk area and end-of-day cash handling.
* Policies and compliance: ensure health and safety, fire, security, licensing, and equal opportunities policies are followed; comply with relevant H&S legislation.
* Other activities: assist the Cinema Manager with community activities.
Person specifications
Essential
* Leadership: proven experience in leading and motivating a team
* Communication: excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Customer service: ability to provide exceptional customer service
* Problem solving: ability to identify and resolve issues effectively
* Organisation: strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
* IT: familiarity with computer systems
* Flexibility: ability to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required
* Hospitality experience: knowledge or experience in hospitality is a plus
Desirable
* Technical skills: digital projection experience and familiarity with POS systems and cinema technology
* First aid qualifications
