Adamson Jones has an outstanding opportunity for a qualified trade mark attorney not yet at partnership level to join our growing trade mark team at one of our offices around the United Kingdom.
About the Firm
Adamson Jones is a growing firm of patent and trade mark attorneys and part of Gateley, a legal and professional services group employing around 1,500 people at offices across the UK. As a standalone patent and trade mark practice within Gateley, we offer our attorneys the chance to work closely with solicitors and other professional advisers in areas such as corporate transactions, commercial agreements and disputes.
Our clients range from small start‑ups and private companies to large corporations, with a strong focus on UK‑based work across a variety of commercial sectors. The role involves conducting clearance searches, drafting and filing trade mark applications worldwide, managing watching services, advising on potential conflicts, and handling oppositions, cancellation proceedings and settlement negotiations.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage an existing caseload of trade mark matters.
• Develop the trade mark practice by working collaboratively with other professionals within the Gateley group.
• Contribute to business development activities, including conference participation and internal CPD programs.
• Support training of current and future trainees when required.
Requirements
• At least two years of post‑qualification experience as a trade mark attorney.
• Ability to take on responsibility for a caseload and work independently while contributing to team growth.
• Ambition to progress toward a senior member of the trade mark team.
• Preference for candidates with experience in corporate lending, acquisition finance or transactional banking who wish to transition to trade mark practice.
Remuneration and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary, a comprehensive benefits package that includes a performance‑related bonus scheme, contributory pension, private medical insurance and extensive rewards such as a cycle‑to‑work scheme, critical illness cover, an employee assistance programme, group personal pension, health care, season ticket loan and a host of retail perks.
The position may be based at any of Gateley’s offices in London, Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester or Nottingham, with flexibility for home/office arrangements (minimum two days per week in an office). We also provide opportunities for conference attendance, internal business development, and training responsibilities.
