Join Arriva as a PCV Master Technician in Stevenage
We are seeking experienced and ambitious PCV Master Technicians to join our team at Stevenage Depot on a full-time permanent basis.
The Master Technician will serve as the depot's expert on complex technical issues and OBD diagnostics, acting as the key interface between engineers and the Engineering Manager. Responsibilities include diagnostics, repairs, and advice on engines, gearboxes, axles, electrical faults, and body systems.
This role requires multi-system experience, particularly in fault finding related to CAN Line, After-Treatment Exhaust Systems, Euro 5/Euro 6 Engines, Multiplex and Electrical Faults, High Voltage, and Hybrid Systems.

Main Responsibilities:
* Act as the first point of contact for in-depth fault finding and repairs on specific bus types
* Conduct diagnostic tests on vehicles and equipment
* Serve as a subject matter expert in mechanical and electrical diagnostics
* Manage technical campaigns and fleet checks within the garage
* Report faults to the Technical and Systems Manager
* Advise the Engineering Manager on technical issues
* Lead projects and trials as directed by senior management
* Develop good working relationships with engineers and mentor apprentices
* Coordinate with chassis and body manufacturers and OEM suppliers
Skills and Experience:
* NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent
* Strong understanding of diagnostic equipment and electrical components
* Experience with diagnostic software such as Cummins Insite, Volvo Tech Tool, ACTIA, WABCO, Xentry
* Proficiency in IT systems (Excel, Word, Outlook)
* Knowledge of the company's operating license conditions
* Willingness to learn and attend training courses
* Full UK driving license (6 points or less)
* Fit for a PCV pre-employment medical
* Ability to prioritize workload and adapt to changing priorities
