Junior Estimator - Contract Role (Utilities Sector)

Are you looking to kick-start your estimating career in the utilities sector? We're seeking a Junior Estimator to join our dynamic team on a contract basis, supporting a range of infrastructure and utility projects.
About the Role:
As a Junior Estimator, you'll work closely with senior estimators and project managers to develop accurate cost estimates for utility projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment and contribute to essential infrastructure work.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in preparing cost estimates and tender submissions
2. Analyse project drawings, specifications, and other documentation
3. Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing
4. Support the development of bills of quantities and cost breakdowns
5. Maintain and update estimating databases and tools
6. Participate in project meetings and reviews
What We're Looking For:
7. Some experience or academic background in estimating, quantity surveying, or construction
8. Strong numerical and analytical skills
9. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software (e.g., Candy, Causeway, or similar)
10. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
11. A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
Desirable:
12. Previous exposure to the utilities sector (water, gas, electricity, or telecoms)
13. Understanding of NEC contracts or similar frameworks
