CNC Miller – Programmer/Setter
OverviewA precision engineering company is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Setter to work on a range of 3- and 5-axis machining centres. Strong working knowledge of Mazatrol and/or Heidenhain controls is essential.
This is a varied and interesting role within a contract machining environment, involving fixtures, prototypes, bespoke components, and occasional small-batch production. Requirements
* Minimum 5 years’ experience producing one-off components from engineering drawings.
* Ability to work to tight tolerances and complete inspections using appropriate measuring equipment.
* Capable of creating fixtures or jigs to support manufacturing processes.
* Strong understanding of tooling, feeds, and speeds.
* Self-motivated, with the ability to manage parts from start to finish and meet deadlines.
* Knowledge of CAD and quality systems is beneficial.
* Skilled in using conventional machines such as centre lathes, turret mills, and surface grinders.
Responsibilities
* Program, set and operate CNC machining centres to meet production deadlines.
* Carry out quality checks using the correct measuring equipment.
* Complete all required documentation and ensure accurate data entry on shop-floor systems.
* Perform routine machine maintenance.
* Maintain a clean and organised working area.
* Work collaboratively as part of the engineering team.
* Ensure all tasks are performed in line with company quality standards.
