Operation Director | Spire Leicester | Oadby | Full Time | Permanent
Spire Leicester Hospital is looking to appoint an experienced and driven Operations Director to join the Senior Management Team on a permanent basis.
This is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for delivering the Hospital’s Annual Operating Plan and supporting the overall strategic direction, aligned to Spire Healthcare’s Purpose and Values.
Key Responsibilities
As Operations Director, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective day‑to‑day running and long‑term performance of the hospital, with a focus on:
* Capacity & Utilisation – Maximising patient throughput and ensuring optimal use of all facilities while maintaining the highest standards of safe patient care
* Leadership & Engagement – Leading non‑clinical services through Heads of Department, fostering a high‑performing, engaged workforce and embedding consistent ways of working aligned to Spire’s “One Best Way”
* Operational Performance – Driving delivery against key performance indicators and ensuring strong operational oversight across all services
* Revenue Growth – Supporting sustainable growth through effective capacity management and service optimisation
* Risk Management – Ensuring robust governance and risk management processes are in place and adhered to
Who We’re Looking For
* A degree and evidence of postgraduate qualification and/or continuous professional development
* Significant experience in a senior management role, ideally within healthcare
* Demonstrable success in operational performance management and service delivery
* Strong problem‑solving and process improvement capabilities
* Experience leading complex change programmes within a healthcare setting
* The ability to manage competing priorities and navigate a matrix organisation effectively
* A collaborative leadership style, with the confidence to challenge constructively and drive solutions through others
