PSV Mechanic – Join Arriva
Full‑time | 5 out of 7 shift rota (mornings, afternoons & late shifts) | £26.35 per hour (£54,808 per year) | Free bus travel for you & your household | Ongoing training & EV upskilling | 25 days holiday
What you’ll do:
* Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and safety inspections on buses
* Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and air system faults
* Repair engines, brakes, steering, suspension, and other vehicle parts
* Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections
* Complete job cards and maintenance records accurately
* Follow health & safety procedures at all times
* Work closely with the workshop team
* Assist with breakdowns and emergency repairs when needed
* Keep the workshop clean and organised
* Manage and order parts when required
What we’re looking for:
* NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
* PSV/HGV mechanical experience – preferably within a bus or coach environment
* Strong fault‑finding & diagnostic skills
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
* Full UK Driving Licence (PCV licence – Cat D highly desirable)
