Our client is a small, specialist team focused on delivering a wide range of high-quality IT solutions. The team currently consists of two people, and you will report directly to the Director, working in a collaborative yet autonomous environment.
Your new role
We are looking for a Systems Administrator & Support Assistant to manage and support the organisation’s internal IT environment as well as one of its clients. This rolebines hands-on user support with infrastructure administration, with a strong emphasis on security, reliability, and clear documentation. You will be responsible for maintaining a modern Microsoft-based workplace while supporting a growing team of approximately 80 employees across multiple departments.
Key responsibilities:
1. Administer and maintain Windows-based environments and Microsoft 365 services.
2. Manage users, devices, policies, andpliance through Microsoft Intune
3. Provide day-to-day technical support to employees across multiple departments
4. Maintain strong security practices, including access control, endpoint protection, and system hardening
5. Manage and support virtualised infrastructure environments
6. Assist with deployment and maintenance of Docker-based services where required
7. Monitor systems using log aggregation and infrastructure monitoring tools
8. Maintain accurate, structured documentation for all systems, configurations, and support processes
9. Support onboarding and offboarding workflows, including device provisioning and account lifecycle management
10. Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and productivity tool issues

What you'll need to succeed
19. Strong administration experience with Windows environments
20. Advanced Microsoft 365 administration experience
21. Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune device and policy management
22. Experience managing IT environments for approximately 50–100 users
23. Familiarity with virtualisation platforms, including XCP-ng or similar
24. Working knowledge of Docker and containerised services
25. Experience using log aggregation platforms and monitoring tools
26. Strong understanding of security best practices and endpoint management
27. Demonstrated ability to produce clear and maintainable technical documentation
Desirable:
28. PowerShell scripting or basic automation experience
29. Familiarity with identity and access management concepts
30. Experience working in small teams with broad operational responsibilities
31. Understanding of networking fundamentals and troubleshooting
