Are you someone who enjoys leading, planning and making things happen for children and young people? We’re looking for a Deputy Manager to support the running and development of our after school and holiday provision.
This is a hands‑on role where no two days are the same. One day you might be planning a holiday programme, the next supporting a team on session, checking registers, or running an activity that children can’t wait to come back to.
If you’re organised, child‑centred and enjoy working as part of a team, this could be a really rewarding next step.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll play a key role in making sure everything runs smoothly, safely and to a high standard.
* Planning and coordinating after school sessions and holiday programmes
* Leading on activity planning, making sure there’s a mix of fun, creative and engaging opportunities
* Managing registers and attendance, ensuring children are safely accounted for
* Supporting the day‑to‑day running of sessions, including staffing and organisation
* Helping to lead and support a small team, including staff, students and volunteers
* Carrying out supervisions and supporting staff development
* Acting as Deputy Safeguarding Lead when needed
* Supporting the promotion of the service, helping more families access what we offer
What we’re looking for
We’re not just looking for qualifications, we’re looking for the right person.
Someone who:
* Is organised and reliable, and can keep things running smoothly
* Enjoys planning activities and programmes
* Is confident leading and supporting others
* Builds positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
* Is practical, hands‑on and calm under pressure
* Brings energy, kindness and a genuine passion for working with children
What you’ll get from us
* A supportive team where you’re valued and trusted
* The chance to shape and develop a growing service
* Opportunities to lead, plan and make decisions
* A role where you can see the real impact you’re having on children’s lives
Working Pattern
* Term time hours typically between 1:00pm – 6:00pm
* School holidays on a rota basis between 8:00am – 6:00pm
* Flexibility is essential
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All appointments are subject to safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS.
If you’re ready to step into a role where you can lead, support others and make a real difference, we’d love to hear from you.
