About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative and dedicated Primary School Teacher specialising in Music to join our vibrant and inclusive school community. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to lead and inspire high-quality music provision across the primary phase while also contributing to the wider curriculum.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in music education and a commitment to ensuring that all pupils, regardless of ability or need, can access and enjoy a rich and engaging musical experience.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging music lessons across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
Lead whole-school music initiatives, performances and extracurricular activities (e.g. choir, orchestra, clubs)
Support the development of a progressive and inclusive music curriculum
Assess, monitor and report on pupil progress in line with school policy
Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance cross-curricular opportunities
Contribute to the wider life of the school community
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Proven experience teaching music within a primary setting
Strong subject knowledge and practical musical skills
Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is essential
A clear understanding of inclusive teaching strategies and adaptive practice
Excellent classroom management skills
Strong communication and organisational skills
Desirable
Experience leading whole-school music development
Ability to play and teach multiple instruments
Experience preparing pupils for performances and community events
