Our client is a scale-up SaaS technology company that provides services in the Telecoms, ISP, and MSP sectors. They are ready to take the next step in their growth strategy and are seeking to hire a CTO to help them achieve their goals.
Role Overview
They are seeking a visionary and hands-on CTO to lead innovation, drive strategic technical planning, and shape their product evolution. This role blends high-level thinking with practical execution—ideal for someone who excels in transforming ideas into scalable solutions while inspiring a collaborative team environment. You'll guide long-term tech strategy, introduce fresh approaches, and lead with influence across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Champion a forward-thinking technology roadmap, focusing on innovation and the adoption of scalable, modern architectures.
Inspire an Agile, collaborative culture by aligning cross-functional teams around shared goals and clear communication.
Evaluate new opportunities to evolve and modernize the tech stack, supporting both immediate delivery and long-term vision.
Systematically replace legacy code with modern, maintainable solutions to improve efficiency and scalability.
Lead the evolution of development workflows and Agile practices to boost effectiveness and responsiveness.
Introduce and enforce QA frameworks and testing strategies to ensure code quality.
Ensure core compliance standards are met (ISO27001), integrating security and audit readiness into daily operations.
Support hands-on development work where needed, while fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
Guide strategic discussions with stakeholders to align technology with business outcomes.
Success Measures (6–12 Months)
A clear, innovation-focused technology roadmap with visible traction.
Agile practices embedded across the development cycle, enabling efficient delivery.
Noticeable reduction in legacy system reliance and progress towards modernisation.
Demonstrable team engagement and collaboration, reflected in morale and output.
Initial compliance benchmarks for ISO27001 are actively being met.
Ensure stakeholders are aligned and informed on technical direction and decisions.
Proven leadership in a CTO, VP Engineering, or senior technical strategy role in a SaaS or Software environment.
Strong understanding of software development and systems architecture in modern tech stacks.
Practical experience leading Agile transformation and team enablement.
Confident working with cloud infrastructure and development tooling.
Strong communicator with the ability to bridge tech and business.
Adept at identifying strategic opportunities and turning ideas into reality.
