Key Responsibilities
* Ensure robust, accurate and timely cost and value reporting at both project and business unit levels.
* Ensure accurate cash flow reporting and carry out cost management, including forecasting.
* Update the monthly CVR, cost and commercial plans.
* Help ensure that internal commercial processes are adhered to across the business unit and actively seek to improve processes and procedures.
* Maintain understanding of processes used by any JV/Alliance and assist in their development and improvement.
* Ensure main contracts have appropriate terms and conditions, identifying commercial risks.
* Engage the supply chain with correct contract terms and build and maintain good client relationships.
* Be responsible for subcontract letting, negotiation and financial accounting; prepare applications for payment.
* Liaise with the client, client representatives and other third parties on commercial issues, including agreement of variations, claims and additional payments.
* Contribute towards effective interaction between the Commercial Team and operational site teams.
* Work with site management to forecast predicted spend and cash recovery, keeping them in line with target.
* Share best practices with others and advise site teams on costs and their management.
Qualifications
* HND/degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying.
* Familiarity with ICE/NEC forms of contract and knowledge of Construction Law.
* Previous experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors, including chairing meetings, measurement and control cycle, certificates and accrual calculations.
* Ability to demonstrate good knowledge of monthly reporting and earned value analysis.
* Knowledge and experience in estimation and cost analysis.
* Excellent communication, numeric and computer literacy skills; proficient in Microsoft Office.
* Strong organisation and time management skills, with ability to work to tight deadlines.
* Ability to work effectively in a team and delegate; also able to work on own initiative.

* Member of RICS or other relevant professional body, or working towards.
