Paraplanner – Route to Adviser OR Senior Technical SpecialistWorthing, Sussex£40,000 plus bonus and benefits package + hybrid workingThe Opportunity:Our client is an established, reputable and continuously growing Independent private client wealth manager who, due to continued growth need to recruit an experienced and ambitious Paraplanner to immediately ensure that exemplary service levels are maintained for their client base, and resource is in place to ensure that the business is robust to deal with higher client demand. As the business grows (primarily through acquisition) there are two genuine career paths that are available to the successful candidate, dependent on preferences, namely to Adviser or moving into a senior paraplanning position and undertaking more complex/technical cases, therefore this opportunity could suit applicants who have an open mind on the future at this stage of their career.The RoleAs an experienced Paraplanner supporting the Advisors, duties to include (but not limited to):Assisting in providing solutions to client’s needs and providing a service which exceeds their expectationsDealing with daily client and provider enquiriesPreparing for client meetings including checking that all compliance paperwork is present.Attending client meetings and taking minutesAnalysing and interpreting data obtained during client meetingsAnalysing client’s existing products to determine whether they meet the client’s current objectivesUndertaking fund performance comparisonsPreparing product comparisons and analysing comparison illustrationsCompleting the FCA pension switching and replacement product templatesPreparing cashflow plans using Voyant SoftwarePreparing draft recommendation reports in line with the Company’s compliance proceduresAnalysing client’s asset allocations and providing recommendations for rebalancing where necessaryDelegating administrative tasks and ensuring work is correctly completedMaintaining client files in line with Company standardsLiaising with the Compliance department to ensure all compliance procedures have been followedCreating and maintaining accurate records of all verbal and non-verbal communications and carrying out tasks in a manner that is consistent with compliance proceduresBuilding and maintaining client relationships through face to face and written/telephone communicationAbout youAs an experienced Paraplanner you will possess most of the following:Qualified to Diploma Level (or one paper off qualification)At least one year’s previous experience in a holistic paraplanning roleThe ability to work with advisers to extract the information required to prepare financial plans and recommendationsGeneral knowledge of the products available in the wider market and how to assess the suitability of these productsThe ability to research protection, pension & investment products and an understanding of the key information required that may affect a recommendationThe ability to undertake detailed research on legacy products, identifying where more in-depth analysis and questioning of providers is requiredAn understanding of investment risk, capacity for loss and loss tolerance and the ability to construct recommendations consistent with a clients agreed risk appetite.Excellent report writing skills.
