The Role
Are you passionate about psychological services that support the rehabilitation of service users?
We're recruiting on behalf of Belfast Health and Social Care Trust to add an Assistant Psychologist within their Adult Psychological Therapies Service.
As a member of the team, you assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, and development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work as relevant to the post.
The post holder will be exposed to aggressive/highly distressed behaviour from patients and family members. Training in the management of aggression is mandatory and staff will be provided with access to panic alarms.
The role
* Conduct psychological assessments using tests, interviews, and observations to inform care plans.
* Support the delivery of psychological treatments and therapeutic group sessions under supervision.
* Maintain detailed, accurate clinical records and manage data entry across Trust systems.
* Contribute to research, audits, and service evaluations, analysing data and preparing reports.
* Uphold Health & Safety standards during clinical work, including safe manual handling and professional conduct in challenging situations.
* Participate in supervision, training, and ongoing professional development to enhance service delivery.
* Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams, supporting consistent, high-quality patient care.
The Person
As the successful candidate you will have the following background and experience:
* Psychology graduate- minimum of 2nd class hons or higher.
* Previous experience as an assistant psychologist.
Entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.
Experience of conducting neuropsychological/ psychometric assessments (e.g. WAIS-IV) under supervision.
