Reporting to:
Co-Founder and Head of Menswear
Role Overview:
Responsible for driving the Menswear design department forward. This position is still a creative role, so the ideal candidate will be comfortable with both producing high-quality design as well as leading our talented team of in-house designers and freelancers. You’ll work closely with our Merchandising and Product Development teams and regularly liaise with our Head Of Menswear.
Responsibilities:
Leadership Responsibilities, including:
* Set overall design direction to create designs that support market trends and the overall creative line of the brand
* Integrate design work within the broader menswear brand strategy
* Manage a team of designers and freelancers
* Coach and develop team members to become excellent designers and deliver outstanding results
* Delegate projects and product categories within the team, supporting the Head of Menswear's vision for accountability across categories/collections
* Create and manage internal department meeting schedules
* Maintain strong working relationships with other departments
* Establish effective communication channels with Womenswear Design
Manage the design process, including:
* Research and create moodboards to identify new trends
* Develop ideas for ranges, keeping best sellers in mind
* Source fabrics and trims with factories
* Mentor the team, ensuring clear briefs and continuous improvement to produce top-quality output
* Create CADs
* Initiate new branding development with factories
* Collaborate closely with the social team, organizing brainstorming sessions and feedback loops for design development. Social team input is key and sets Jaded apart
Manage the technical process, including:
* Attend fit sessions
* Provide fit comments and meet deadlines
* Stay informed on customer feedback regarding fit and fabrication
General office and design duties, including:
* Organize factory visits, including flights and itineraries
* Attend trade and other relevant meetings as requested by the Co-Founder & Head of Menswear
* Organize samples, ensuring proper storage of fabric swatches and trims
* Manage Garment Techs in organizing fit samples
Minimum Requirements:
* 5+ years industry experience
* Proven ability to set a creative tone inspiring new ideas and concepts
* Excellent communication skills
* Comfortable presenting at director level
* Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office, CAD, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator
* Ability to create sketched CADs, technical drawings, and set up print placements
* Effective team management and workload prioritization skills
* Trend awareness and attention to detail
* Autonomous decision-making with strong creative judgment
* Flexible, diligent, and adaptable approach
* Deep understanding of the Jaded London brand and customer base
* Team player with passion for the brand’s success
