Deputy Sister / Charge Nurse (Band ) – Wycombe Dialysis Unit

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part‑time Band Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse to join the Wycombe Dialysis Unit.
We are seeking a nurse who is passionate about renal nursing and committed to delivering an excellent patient experience. You should be enthusiastic, professional, and demonstrate a strong work ethic. A commitment to high standards of patient care is essential, as is the ability to remain calm and think quickly in a clinically demanding environment.
Applicants must be experienced Band nurses with a minimum of two years’ haemodialysis experience, and either have completed a renal course or be working towards one. You should be confident in demonstrating high‑quality patient care and have a clear vision for leading and supporting the team with minimal supervision.
Main duties of the job Key Duties and Responsibilities
Staff Management
1. Recruitment, induction, and training of staff
2. Supporting absence management and performance management
3. Providing day‑to‑day leadership and guidance to the nursing team
Clinical Responsibilities
4. Delivering high‑quality haemodialysis treatment
5. Ensuring nursing standards are maintained and aligned with the NMC Code of Professional Standards
6. Supporting safe and effective patient care within a nurse‑led service
Governance and Service Improvement
7. Liaising with other dialysis unit managers within the Oxford Kidney Unit
8. Conducting dialysis assurance audits and Health & Safety audits
9. Identifying areas for improvement and contributing to service development.
