The Role:
The postholder will open, close and undertake a wide range of cleaning duties covering all areas in and around public toilets.
Hours of work: 37 hours per week
Requirements:
1. Open/close toilets in line with relevant operational hours. Ensure security of facility by locking and securing windows, doors, gates and checking/ setting of alarms.
2. Undertake general cleaning and maintenance of the public toilets, to meet with high standards of cleanliness and hygiene required.
3. Gather litter in surrounding areas.
4. Deal with the public in relation to complaints or service requests, providing direct response or reporting to the supervisor as appropriate.
5. Report any defects or accidents to the supervisor.
6. Contribute to continuous improvement of Council services by reporting to the supervisor any issue or observation considered beneficial for that purpose.
7. Implement appropriate procedures to control and contain environmental impact of activities (including an immediate pollution control response), under the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
8. Have regard for personal health and safety and that of the general public, and observe health and safety rules and regulations.
9. Supervise the facility during opening hours and provide assistance, if applicable to site.
10. Undertake any other relevant duties that may be required and are commensurate with the nature and grade of the post.
Essential Requirements
11. Six months experience in a customer service environment
12. Six months experience of cleaning a public facility
