The role

As a Continuing Airworthiness Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant delivery of continuing airworthiness services across Babcock’s fleet. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of aircraft, supporting critical aviation operations while developing your technical expertise and growing your influence within a collaborative engineering environment.

Day-to-day, you will:

1. Develop Approved Maintenance Programmes by reviewing Type Certificate Holder and regulatory instructions such as Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins.
2. Create and schedule maintenance programme tasks within the Maintenance Information System (RAMCO).
3. Support the Maintenance Review Board through data analysis and performance insights.
4. Manage technical enquiries including repair scheme requests and continuing airworthiness clarifications.
5. Ensure Mass and Balance reports reflect aircraft configuration accurately.

This role is full‑time working 40 hours per week and is based on site, working Monday–Friday, 8:00–17:00, with occasional travel to other UK locations as required.

Essential experience of the Continuing Airworthiness Engineer:

6. Experience working within a Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation in a Commercial Air Transport environment.
7. Background suitable to be nominated for an Airworthiness Review position (SRG /AD).
8. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel reporting.
9. Experience engaging stakeholders and presenting to senior managers.
10. Team leadership experience (from any setting).

Qualifications for the Continuing Airworthiness Engineer:

11. Aircraft engineering experience with systems knowledge, maintenance processes and standards (helicopter experience desirable).
12. Current detailed knowledge of CAA Part CAMO, Part M, Part and BCAR regulations.
13. Formal management, supervisory or business administration training (desirable).
14. Considerable relevant experience within the Aeronautical industry, or equivalent combination of Aeronautical degree and experience within Part CAMO.
15. Part 66 qualification with considerable Certifying Staff experience — ideally EC & BK — plus Part line and base maintenance experience.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.

Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
