Salary: £12.60 per hour

About the Role
This is £26,280 per annum (FTE is 40 hours per week, pro rata for part time)
Employment type: Permanent
Hours per week: 15 hours per week, with a possibility of overtime

We are seeking a Community Support Worker to assist a young man with learning disabilities in his own home in Cambridge and while out in the community. You will be lone working, supporting this young man with his weekend activities which may involve travel to Huntingdon. With an expected longer shift on a Saturday and shorter shift on a Sunday, you will need to provide a nurturing, supportive and patient approach and hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to use your own car for work.
As a Community Support Worker you will assist with:
* Household chores, personal care and medication management.
* Supporting people to medical appointments.
* Supporting people during daytime outings including shopping trips, dining out and visits to the park.
* Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements:
* A full UK manual driving licence along with a car you can use for work is essential for this role
* Availability to work every Saturday and Sunday
* You will need a friendly, patient and outgoing personality
* Strong communication skills, being able to pick up on both verbal and non-verbal cues
* You will need a passion to help others and make a difference in the community
* You will be capable of working both independently as well as part of a team

* New to social care – no problem, as we have excellent internal training for all support staff.
Responsibilities
* To provide person-centred support to the people who use our services.
* To follow the support plans of the people we support and any other relevant documentation
* To support all people in line with their individual communication needs
* Assist with daily living activities, which may include meal preparation, medication administration, and personal hygiene.
* Maintain open communication with the people we support, their families and within the staffing team to ensure needs are met effectively.
