Job Summary
Dismantling Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment, (WEEE) safely and efficiently to meet current standards, reuse and recycle as much waste material as possible whilst maximising earning potential for Wiser Recycling.
Responsibilities
* Supporting the Transport team by performing collections of recycling materials from sites in the company's 3.5 tonne van during periods of driver holiday and sickness.
* Drivers mate as and when required.
* Adhering to the Wiser Recycling Transport Policy, The Highway Code and all health and safety regulations.
* Adhere to safe working practices and health and safety instruction.
* Breaking down of Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment (WEEE) into component parts.
* Cleaning and maintaining equipment.
* Sorting out the recyclable and reusable items from the waste area.
* Stripping and/or crushing plastic coated tubes.
* Sorting/crushing non-linear lamps.
* Unloading vehicles.
* Placing all material from vans into appropriate containers.
* Sorting and containerising batteries.
* Dismantling WEEE and containerising material.
* Labelling, weighing and noting all full containers ready for collection/delivery.
* Assisting to unload vans and placing all material into appropriate containers under instruction from Team Leaders/Site Supervisor.
* Occasionally working as a driver's mate for collection of recycling materials across the South East of England/UK as needed.
* Carrying out reasonable instructions from Team Leaders and Site managers.
* Job includes lifting and manual handling
Requirements
Mandatory
* Must be able to reliably commute daily to our site in Thetford.
* Must be comfortable with heavy lifting.
* Must have a full Driving Licence with no more than 3 points.
Desired
* Experience of working within the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment industry.
* Able to work occasional weekends and bank holidays.
* Knowledge of safe working practices.
* Be able to do a night out when occasionally required when driving.
