This will be a change of pace to working in the Ambulance Service on-calls, you will have the opportunity to influence direct patient care, apply a preventative medicine approach alongside responding to acute medical needs.
Main duties of the job
You will provide clinical care alongside the practice teams consisting of clinical lead, general practitioners, practice nurses and Healthcare assistants.
Patient contact will be via patient facing clinics, triage, on-call duties and home visits
1. Work as part of our multi disciplinary team alongside our GPs, Paramedic & ANP's to deliver safe and high quality care.
2. Carry out clinical practice at an advanced level using expert clinical skills, critical judgements & knowledge to deliver appropriate and safe care.
3. Triage and treat patients, performing specialist assessment of their needs and make referrals as necessary to other members of the primary and secondary health care teams as appropriate.
4. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions, including drug and non-drug based treatment methods into a management plan.
5. Request diagnostic investigations and interpret within agreed protocols x-ray, blood tests, scans, etc.
6. Assess, diagnose and treat patients in practice premises or their own home who require medical attention and/or refer to appropriate agency.
