Computational Biologist
Principal Scientist in Translational Omics (TO) – Health Sciences – Hepatology / MASH
Job Purpose
We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team as a Principal Scientist in Translational Omics (TO). The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience with diverse data types (e.g., genetics, transcriptomics, histopathology imaging) and state‑of‑the‑art computational biology methods applied to biological, translational, and/or clinical questions in drug discovery and development. The Principal Scientist will inform genomics analysis, interpretation and project impact in Hepatology and related biology, using both internal and external data to address scientific questions, and communicate results to peers and leaders.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
* Apply expertise in -omics and imaging and use state‑of‑the‑art computational methods to support the discovery and development of new medicines.
* Generate and evaluate genomic/histopathology imaging evidence to support therapeutic target and/or biomarker hypotheses and mechanistic understanding.
* Identify and evaluate relevant internal and external data sets for analysis.
* Provide clear and concise communication of results and interpretation to peers and leaders.
* Collaborate effectively in multi‑disciplinary teams to answer complex scientific questions.
* Demonstrate initiative in identifying and implementing creative, state‑of‑the‑art analytical solutions to address challenging scientific questions.
* Work with agility to adapt rapidly to changing priorities and timelines.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience
* Demonstrable translational expertise in Hepatology and MASH, including in vitro, in vivo and in silico work, complemented by a clear understanding of clinical data and disease.
* Strong analytical competence with ability to interpret results across multiple data types.
* Experience working across academia and industry collaborations.
* Effective collaboration with Pathologists and AI‑based image analysis across platforms (PathAI, HistoIndex and PharmaNEST).
* Demonstrated experience writing R or Python code to impact analyses.
* Demonstrated understanding of internal and external data landscape to address and impact a range of scientific questions.
* Excellent communication skills to convey complex scientific concepts to peers and leaders.
* Proactive and innovative mindset with ability to identify and implement creative solutions.
* Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
* Ability to work with agility and adapt to changing priorities and timelines.
* Passion for advancing the science of drug target identification and validation.
