Flexible Opportunities | Part-Time & Full-Time | Start ASAP

Are you a passionate and experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a role where you truly feel valued? At Reed Education, we’re working closely with a range of welcoming, well-resourced primary schools across the Wakefield area who are ready to welcome dedicated professionals into their classrooms.

This isn’t just another agency role. It’s an opportunity to be part of something trusted, established, and genuinely respected within the local education community.

Why choose Reed Education?

We’re proud to say that Reed has built a strong and trusted reputation with primary schools across Wakefield and West Yorkshire. Many schools choose to work with us exclusively because they know the quality of staff we provide and the relationships we build.

Quite simply – schools come back to Reed because we get it right.

That means better placements for you, supportive school environments, and consistent opportunities.

About the role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting pupils’ learning and development both in and out of the classroom. Whether you're looking for daily supply, short-term cover, or longer-term placements, we can offer flexibility that fits around your life.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management
  • Working one-to-one or with small groups to support learning outcomes
  • Assisting pupils with additional needs, including SEN support where required
  • Helping create a positive, inclusive learning environment
  • Providing feedback on pupil progress

What we’re looking for:

  • Qualified Teaching Assistant (Level 2, Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Previous experience working in primary school settings
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and wellbeing
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, reliable attitude
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

What you’ll get in return:

  • Flexible working options – full-time or part-time to suit you
  • Competitive daily rates, paid weekly
  • Access to a wide network of local primary schools
  • Ongoing support from a consultant who actually listens
  • Opportunities for longer-term placements and career progression

A bit more about us…

At Reed Education, we don’t believe in simply filling vacancies. We focus on building lasting relationships – with both schools and candidates. That’s how we ensure the right fit every time.

You won’t be treated like just another CV. We take the time to understand what you’re looking for and match you with schools where you can genuinely thrive.

Ready to take the next step?

If you’re an experienced Teaching Assistant who wants flexibility, support, and access to some of the best primary schools in Wakefield, we’d love to hear from you.

Apply today and let’s find the right opportunity for you.
